I found this photograph circulating on Facebook, and it reminded me that we are required to not only do our part, but to simultaneously pray to G-d, so that He may do His part.
The two are not mutually exclusive. Action and prayer are key requirements, if we are to warrant assistance from our Maker. At a time when Israel is under attack from terrorists in Gaza, we must take action, as well as pray for Am Yisrael.
It is hard to imagine what actions we can take, if we are outside of Eretz Yisrael. There are a few organizations that send supplies and shelter to areas that are being barraged right now. Volunteering or making a donation are always welcomed actions.
The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is one organization that runs an Emergency Bomb Shelter program at http://www.standforisrael.org. In addition, you can support Magen David Adom, the Israeli ambulance service, through http://www.afmda.org. Furthermore, Aish has a great article that covers many actions you can take to support Israel: http://www.aish.com/h/iid/48884102.html.
Let us beseech G-d to protect Am Yisrael, now and always.
Grant peace, goodness and blessing, grace, loving-kindness and compassion to us and all Yisrael Your people. Bless us, Aveinu, all as one, with the light of Your face, for by the light of Your face You have given us, Hashem our G-d, the Torah of life and love of kindness, righteousness, blessing, compassion, life and peace. May it be good in Your eyes to bless Your people Yisrael at every time, in every hour, with Your peace.

Bless our country, that it may always be a stronghold of peace, and its advocate among the nations. May contentment reign within its borders, health and happiness within its homes. Strengthen the bonds of friendship among the inhabitants of all lands. And may the love of Your name hallow every home and every heart. Blessed is the Eternal God, the source of Peace.
